Enjoy Art Every Time You Use a Tissue
Limited production by Nancy Owen Starr
Your home is your sanctuary. You curate your furniture, your art, your colors. Why let a branded, disposable cardboard box ruin the aesthetic?
Little NeighborWoods transforms a mundane necessity into a conversation piece. Made from over 20 native and exotic wood species—it's not just a box holder. It's a statement.
Watch how light plays across the different wood grains. Available in two standard sizes.
Ideal for coffee tables and desks. Over 300 individual pieces.
Perfect for nightstands and end tables. Over 200 individual pieces.
We don't use stains to fake beauty. The colors you see are 100% natural, created by the tree itself.
Each collage includes around 20 of the following species:

Standard size wood lumber is ripped and cross-cut on a standard table saw, down to dimensions as small as 1/8 inch (3 mm). Each piece is sanded by hand. The layout of the pieces is designed for maximum contrast and balance. When gluing is finished, the box is sprayed with three coats of UV-resistant sealant, to prevent the gradual color change that would normally occur in fresh-cut woods.

"I started woodworking as a senior, beginning a new chapter in my life at age 60. My late husband was a woodworker, and this craft connects me to him. He taught me how to use the table saw. The inherent danger of cutting pieces to such small dimensions on the table saw focuses my mind like nothing else."
I call my pieces Little NeighborWoods because the different woods contrast and play off each other in harmony, like good neighbors in a densely packed urban neighborhood. The many pieces are fitted together like a puzzle, with patience and love.
